Sometimes in 2020, Instagram recommended Desola’s account as someone I might know. Intrigued, I visited her profile to check her out and her stunning beauty caught my attention. I thought to myself, “I may have found my future life partner” Back then, she resided in Boston. Believe me, if I had my way, I would have married her but, life isn’t always perfect.  I had been planning his 30th birthday surprise dinner for months because I wanted it to be perfect, he really deserved it. A few weeks to the birthday dinner, his younger sister convinced him to propose earlier and hinted that I was planning something for him and it would be a wonderful way to surprise me. I started to suspect literally all my friends because I’m able to pick on the tiniest detail but he managed to sell me another story about some other event happening on his birthday (the surprise party was set for the day before) and I believed he would propose on his actual birthday instead. We got to the venue of the surprise dinner, with all of our friends that I had invited for his birthday waiting.  We are one of those “we met on Twitter” couple. I randomly replied to a tweet from a mutual friend of ours on Twitter. Dude went to check my profile and saw “talkative” there. Being a guy who loves to have great conversations, he sent a DM with a casual “hello” which I’d have ignored on a regular day, but this day wasn’t regular, so I replied. Yo!!! In 3 days of talking, it felt like we had known each other for at least a decade. A few weeks later, I had fallen in love with him and was sure he was the one. They assured me it would be a short trip, but to my surprise, they revealed to my siblings and I that we would be staying in Nigeria for at least a year to get to know our roots. Initially, I was angry and I begrudgingly started summer school, resenting the idea of leaving behind the life and friends I knew so well. To my astonishment, I found myself loving the school and quickly made many friends in the short three weeks of summer school. My parents were relieved to see me settling in so smoothly.  It all began on February 6th when Adams first noticed me on my friend’s Instagram story. Sparking his curiosity, he said to my friend “Who is that fine tall babe?”. At first, I thought, “Who is this guy?” but after about a week, my friend encouraged me to speak to him and at least be his friend. We got talking when he sent me a cheesy message.  In October 2017, one faithful day while scrolling through my Tumblr page, I came across Sandra’s profile and it immediately got my attention. My initial thought was who is this beautiful lady and where does she live? I instantly loved that she was boldly sharing and blogging about Christ. I went searching for her and followed her on other social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. After following her on social media, I discovered that we had some mutual friends and that Sandra and I lived in the same state (Maryland). This was a huge relief LOL! I decided to message Sandra on Facebook but she never opened the message because she rarely used Facebook at that point. I was so insistent on following through with my plans to get Sandra’s attention, so I had to figure out another way to get a hold of her and at least initiate a conversation. Luckily for me, Instagram stories had just become a thing during that time so now all I had to do was wait for the perfect opportunity ...
